Johnson's Beach Dam Take out - Summer 2026

The Seasonal Dam Johnson's is scheduled to be removed September 28th - 30th. 

Proper dam operation includes having water flowing through the fish ladder and over the "Overflow" section in the middle of the river. You might start to see some boards getting removed to arrange for a prompt take out, but we feel confident that the Johnson's Beach Dam will remain Up for the last weekend in September. 

The fish ladder will remain in place until the proper equipment and personnel can be arranged, but it will be removed by Oct 15th. 

 

 

Installation - Summer 2026

RRRPD Maintenance Crew and helpers have already begun the process of installing the dam at Johnson's Beach for the 2026 Summer Season! The weather looks good and flows are in the 200cfs range so we are planning  to have the dam fully installed this week. 

We do ask everyone to please stay off the dam and fish ladder at all times. This is a safety issue and ignoring the signs, warnings, and requests of RRRPD and Johnson's Beach staff threatens the structures and everyone's enjoyment of them.
